Inn Victoria, home of Southern Vermont Family Vacations, recently hosted a baby shower for a couple whose families flew in from California and New York City. Here is a note they shared with us a few days later!

Dear Penny and Dan,

I've been meaning to write you to tell you what a fabulous weekend we had for my sister's baby shower at the beginning of March. The party was fantastic and all the food delicious! We all passed around the recipes that you shared with my aunt! Can't wait to try the scones myself. The venue was just right for an intimate and special baby shower. It was just perfect! Plus the mothers both LOVED their rooms and everything about staying with you for the weekend. They were absolutely thrilled. The biggest compliments I heard from them was how much they really enjoyed the both of you. You were both so friendly and accommodating that you made it such a comfortable and enjoyable stay. I'm really glad I decided to have my sister's baby shower with you. Thank you so much, again!

And I'm thinking that someday when my husband and I need a night or two away, we'll be calling you for a get away weekend close to home!

Inn Victoria, Romantic Vermont Bed and Breakfast, congratulates a local partner; Vermont's biggest outdoor adventure park with its newest event to open in early July....The Aerial Adventure Park at Bromely.

Here is what our friends at Bromely are saying about the Aerial Adventure Park: "Challenge yourself to new heights, literally! Combining elements of a zip line, canopy tour and challenge course, this will be the latest aerial adventure park in Vermont. As you work your way through the canopy, from platform to platform and tree to tree, over bridges of rope, wood and wire, you’ll be safe in your harness, exploring a whole new side of Bromley with a squirrel’s eye view. We’ll have courses for all skill and age levels!

The Aerial Adventure Park will offer family fun for ages 7 and up.

This is what we're planning...5 different course levels, in the trees! Each course has zip lines but primarily consist of “bridges” between tree platforms made of rope, cable and wood configurations creating countless unique challenges. We'll provide a harness and safety equipment, as well as training that will enable you to climb & zip around the park! Inn Victoria, a Romantic Vermont Bed and Breakfast consistently gets Top Ratings on Tripadvisor from guests. Here is the latest posted yesterday from Danielle & Bryan.

My boyfriend and I received a gift card from family to BedandBreakfast.com, and we were searching for places in Vermont since we wanted to go snowboarding. As we were searching we decided that Inn Victoria was the place for us and after staying there we HAVE to say that they have far exceeded our expectations. Right from the beginning, we felt like we were visiting old friends. The entire inn was gorgeous, clean, well kept, and warm. The room we stayed in (Princess Helena) was absolutely beautiful. The pictures were beautiful so we were so excited but after staying...the pictures do NOT do justice. The room is 100X more beautiful and comfortable. I felt like I was sleeping on a cloud on the two nights we stayed there. The room was romantic since it had an antique type bathtub right near the fireplace, a shower with two seats/two shower-heads, and a private hot tub on the deck. Each morning we woke up to an amazing breakfast. Lemon curd bread, blueberry pancakes, and strawberry applesauce were just a few of the tasty things on the menu. Their menu of teas was one of my favorite parts of my stay. I love many different kinds of tea, and I had such a wide variety of new kinds to try! Penny, Dan, and Jessica were such nice people I actually felt sad when we had to leave! At least we know the next time we make our way to Vermont we have an exquisite place to stay and friends to catch up with.

If you are going to Vermont, definitely check this place out! Tell them Danielle and Bryan sent you! You will not be disappointed!

Hi Everyone, Just wanted to let you know about a wonderful event 2 weeks from today on Saturday 3/17 at the Inn Victoria in Chester VT.
There will be a high tea at 3:00 followed by my St. Patrick's Day sing-a-long. I will sing my best Irish tenor songs, play some Irish jigs, and hand out Irish song sheets.
    The high tea costs $20 per person, and is well worth it. Each person gets to pick out their own antique tea cup and saucer,and choose from many different teas to drink. There is so much in the way of sandwiches, scones, and other pastries, that Liz and I have been too full to eat dinner when we went to high tea.If you stay overnight, the high tea as well as a fantastic breakfast is included in the price of the room.
    Liz and I stayed at the Inn Victoria last October to escape the hundreds of rowdy college students the night of Pumpkin Festival. We have stayed at many B and B's over the years, but this place is by far the best because of the comfortable feeling you get walking into the Victorian parlor, dining room, and guest rooms. The innkeepers, Dan and Penny Cote are the friendliest and most welcoming inn keepers we have ever encountered.

“The Perfect Small Wedding”

After going to the Inn Victoria for a few years in a row to ski, it quickly became one of our favorite vacation spots. The Inn is so warm and inviting. Everything from the friendly hosts to the delicious food is perfect! We have always stayed in the Princess Victoria room and enjoyed every minute of it. It was always neat and clean, spacious and absolutely luxurious. The bathtub and fireplace was always something to look forward to after a day of skiing.
Naturally, we chose the Inn as the location for our wedding reception. Our family and friends stayed at the Inn for a long weekend while we were all completely spoiled by Penny, Dan and Jessica. Not only are they amazing hosts but blew us away with their wedding planning skills. Everything was so special, done exactly the way we like and Penny's cooking was outstanding! Being able to relax at my own wedding was very important to me and was a day I will never forget!
I would highly recommend the Inn Victoria as a place to go to ski, relax or to hold you next small event. Thank you Penny and Dan, we look forward to seeing you soon! - Rob and Taylor

We've all heard of wine tasting trails through wine country. Have you heard of the Vermont Cheese Trail? Start your excursion right here at Inn Victoria, a Romantic Vermont bed and breakfast in the Okemo Valley. Some of Vermont's best cheese is made right here in Southern Vermont.

With over 200 cheese producers in Vermont, there are several that stand out as national award winners with a few that have even hit the charts among the worlds finest. A few that we regularly enjoy at Inn Victoria include:

Crowley Cheese, the oldest cheese maker in VT is located 30 minutes from Inn Victoria in Healdville just a little north of Ludlow. The small factory provides tours on most days.

Plymouth Artisan Cheese, offers some outstanding cheese on route 100. Located approximately 45 minutes north of Inn Victoria, the ride is spectacular and the opportunity to visit the Calvin Coolidge Historical site makes for a great side trip from the Inn. The factory provides tours on most days.

Taylor Farm Cheese makers are located 16 miles NW of In Victoria on Rt.#11 headed toward Manchester, VT. Some of the region's most loved cheese, this farm will allow you to tour the factory, the farm, the store and even catch a sleigh ride in the winter.

Grafton Village Cheese can be purchased in the small village store in the center of this historic community. Located 8 miles from Inn Victoria, the small town is a feast of historic buildings ripe for photographers. This is also the home of Grafton Ponds, a great XCountry ski area as well as a beautiful covered bridge.

WAAWWE Farms Market is a small market located in Gassetts, on the intersection of Rt# 103 & Rt# 10, five miles from Inn Victoria. This small market and farm produces exceptional Jersey Cow milk that has been used to produce several national and international award winning cheeses.

Vermont Weddings at Inn Victoria

The Okemo region's "Best Romantic Bed and Breakfast" as rated by Yankee Magazine, is recognized as Vermont's intimate wedding venue. In the last few weeks, Inn Victoria has enjoyed the privilege of hosting a number of Vermont weddings. Here are a few pictures of happy couples who have placed their trust in us.

The names have been left out of this blog to protect the guilty! It is such a joy to support the linking of these precious lives. Walking down this beautiful 160 year-old Victorian, mahogany staircase is a treasure. Imagine doing so on your special day.

An elopement for two or a wedding with 25 witnesses; we plan around your needs, budget and design everything according to your dreams. And when all is done you are welcome to make your mark inside one of our closet spaces, as is the young lady in the picture below.

We are in the process of creating an English garden in the back yard that will host events of 60-75 people. It will be laid out with patio rocks shaped in twelve foot circles, each with their own eleven foot pagoda able to hold 10 people. there will be lots of beautiful garden plantings, open sitting space and even a fire pit for those who wish to enjoy an evening campfire. Stay in touch, we'll have more information and pictures this spring as the pagodas and plantings go in.
